week one over....

and not a single cheat or fail!
WAs  a huge deal going round the supermarket today and realising just how much junk i used to pick up, bread and bakery products, cake, puddings and biscuits. Never in huge quantity....but certainly a lot more than I thought.
I decided that as I don't do well with failure, I'm not gonna weigh or measure again till the end of the month -0 that way if the week to week is slow I'll not get disheartened.

The plan this week is to reduce portion size and introduce exercise ...Jillian will be my co-pilot for that x

Day 5 - easy...easy...eeee-saaayyyy

lol - bet I'm no saying that by day 10! so far so good, have never felt I'm missing out, couple of times I've felt hungry - but realise that's ok. I'm sticking to a 3 meal/2 snack combo.

I've realised I'm an awesome cook - yatta!

I walked past the scales in boots today and was really tempted to get on them....but gonna wait and see what happens Monday x

Nothing exciting to report - just plodding on, not feelin' hard done by, will have the weekend, weigh in Monday then report back x

measuring.....

Should have done this yesterday - in case I've lost inches on day one overnight!

Neck - 15.5"
full bust - 47"
underbust 39.5"
bicep (both left and right) - 17"
midriff - 44"
waist - 42"
hips - 50"
thigh (L+R) 27" +29.5"
calf (L+R) 18"+ 18.5"

this means i have one leg fatter than the other which is a bit concerning...will measure again Jan 31st and see if there's any difference - please let there be a difference x

oh dear - day one.

actually the 'oh dear' isn't near as bad as I thought, that's was more about the facts and figures rather than the food today.
Managed well with the food - no sneaky carbs or cheats of any kind and only 3 cups of tea!
However the trip to boots was an eye opener - I'm an inch taller than i thought!!! yay!
According to the readout i am 16st8lb (105kg) with a bmi of 39.7 % - not good. The ideal bmi for me is between 18.5 and 25.0, and weight between 7st10lb and 10st6lb,
the weight isn't really a surprise, I mean the baby is 6 months old and I'm still wearing maternity gear.
Its a bit daunting thinking about loosing at least a third body weight, so trying to think about it in dress sizes rather than weights - one at a time dude!

last day of excess...

so I have committed to doing the 30 day paleo challenge with Dave, this means no potatos, no rice no pasta - no processed foods and no additives no sugar and salt, no wheat no dairy. Pretty much fruit veg meat fish and eggs.Lifted from the crossfit love website.

Join us for the THE WORLD’S LARGEST PALEO CHALLENGE.
Simply, 30 days of eating real food. Along with your high quality eating, you will have the ability to be a part of great giveaways, daily Paleo blogs posts, expert video interviews and much more. Expect to learn awesome knowledge, be ready for sweet giveaways and get an inspiring start to 2011.
Get Some.

On 1.3.11 you accept these challenge rules (All penalties have been removed, NO CHEATS FOR ANYONE!)
1. Do not eat dairy. This includes butter, cheese (hard and soft), yogurt (even Greek) and milk (including cream in your coffee or tea).
2. Do not eat grains. This includes bread, rice, pasta, cereal, oatmeal, corn and all of those gluten-free pseudo-grains like quinoa and sprouted grains.
3. Do not eat legumes. This includes beans of all kinds (soy, black, kidney, etc.), peas, lentils, and peanuts. (No peanut butter, kids.)
4. Do not eat or add sugar of any kind, real or artificial. No maple syrup, honey, agave nectar, Splenda, Equal, Nutrasweet, xylitol, stevia, etc.
5. Do not eat processed foods. This includes protein shakes, processed bars (like Zone bars), dairy-free creamers, etc.
6. Do not drink alcohol, in any form.
7. Do not eat white potatoes. It’s kind of arbitrary, but one, they’re a nightshade, and two, sweet potatoes and yams are a more nutrient-dense option, so go for those instead.

This is the plan - HOWEVER, I will continue to drink tea with milk and sweetner, and I will use stock cubes whilst cooking - I think I can stick to everything else.
Fingers crossed - tomorrow I will lkist my weights and measurements - see just how morbidly obese I am :(

January 1st - traditional time to make changes...

okay - so its the first resolutions are made to be broken? No resolutions from me, just a goddamm determination to get things done this year.
For me.
Sort out the diet - eat as close to home as possible, lose the sweet tooth, nothing with more than 5 ingredients in it.
Choose a 'look' - 34 really is too old to want to be emo, but I 'm not ready to embrace full on old biker chick yet. maybe i should pick a signature colour? or accessory - i could be the 'scarf' girl or 'the one with the earrings' ...nah.
Quit swearing - wee boy will soon be imitating - have managed to produce two awesome and polite boys so far, need that trend to continue.
For them.
They need to man up and learn to pitch in - I need to learn not to do everything for them, and learn to delegate a bit more.
I need to enhance my calm.

For all.

I'm taking tomorrow as a reset day - clearing out the kitchen cupboards, getting in ingredients and shopping that will make changing a bit easier. I also have to visit with mother...where she will make thinly veiled comments about my life of excess and how she's never been my size - she has chosen to channel her addictive gene towards tobacco and alcohol rather than food.

I often wonder if I smoked would I be thin? and 30 is a stupid age to start...

Would I rather be fat and normal looking - or thin and pot ugly?
Would I rather live to 100 as a fatty, or to 50 thin?
Rich and fat, or poor and thin?

The answer sadly to all these is thin, I'd rather be thin and ugly and poor and sickly, than what I am now...which is a really sad state of affairs. Yet I keep stuffing my face.

lets make 2011 the year that rocks!

Starting again....

3 good days in a row, 4 months ago .... and boy what a spectacular fall off the wagon - I did actually struggle on deluding myself for a bit that I was doing OK, but the fact is my baby is six months old and I'm still wearing maternity clothing. have agreed with Dave to go strictly paleo for the month of January, with a break on 23/01 (works xmas night out). Still feel too big to physically do excersise, but have got some Wii stuff to get me started.
Here's hoping that 2011 is my year x
